The giving of your time, your knowledge, and your experience on and off the diamond. Baseball is a great tool for teaching young players about life. Life, like an opposing pitcher, will throw you the occasional curve-ball or even a nasty slider. Learning how to stop looking at these as obstacles and start looking at them as opportunities is the path to success. Learning how to manage these opportunities will not only determine your place in the lineup, but your place in life. Some of the best life lessons I learned were on the baseball diamond and I hope to pass that experience on to the players I coach. I take pride in the possibility that they will remember one thing I say or do that helps them succeed in their pursuits (even if I am unaware of the impression I left with them). To any coaches reading this - remember they are always watching you - they will remember the good, the bad, and especially the ugly.
