ABOUT THE CRUSH

The San Diego Crush Baseball Academy is a travel ball organization that promotes a higher level of baseball competition. At Crush Baseball, we help each player get to the next level of their game. We offer multiple travel teams and semester clinics with our professional coaching staff, who range from a variety of backgrounds and positions played. We play out of Poway, California and draw from multiple Little Leagues, Pony Leagues, and High Schools. We have no affiliation with any high school.

WHY JOIN CRUSH?

Crush stands out over other travel organizations because of our coaching staff, our facilities and development, and the baseball experience that players receive. Our goal with every player we coach is to get them ready for the next level, wherever it may be.

COACHING STAFF

The program's staff is led by Nick Carmichael, who pitched in the Detroit Tigers system with a career ERA of 3.25. Alongside Nick, the Crush Program offers a list of ex-college and pro players who now coach with the Crush, and have developed college and professional players. We encourage everyone to check out our coaches page HERE.

FACILITIES

Along with our high-level coaching staff, all of our teams have a reliable practice schedule at several North County locations. We invest a lot into the facilities that we lease so that we can have quality practices with quality repetitions. Crush teams win in the long run because of the attention to detail that we put into practice. Our motto is “Long-Term Success.” A list of successful Crush players is HERE.

BASEBALL EXPERIENCE

Outside of the coaching and progression that our players experience, the program stands apart from others because it offers a refreshing perspective of the game. Other programs prioritize only the number of accolades their teams can accumulate before entering high school, which all too often leads to burnout. The priority at Crush is to make the game about each player’s development and enjoyment of the sport. We find this to be a more sustainable goal that leads to an environment that develops productive citizens with good character as well as successful athletes. We encourage interested players and families to read. We encourage interested players and families to read what Crush families say about the program HERE

ETHICS

Crush also stands apart because its primary goal is not financial profit. Program fees have stayed the same since 2019, even in difficult economic times. There are no sales jobs with Crush. We are upfront on costs and about what team your player will play on. We don’t take every player. We believe in team unity, so there is not a constant influx of players. Rosters also stay consistent through the season. We are loyal to our players. As is common practice among other clubs, we don’t gouge families on tournament fees and extra fees. There are no “administrative fees.” There also are not any annual fees or registration fees. We don’t “offer” sales on extra practices or clinics. Anything extra that is offered is included in the program. For example, we offer free workouts in the summer off-season for those who don’t want time off. We offer free catching and hitting clinics in the Fall, and we offer open workouts in the Spring, to work around rain and little league schedules.

THE CRUSH DIFFERENCE

We believe that our coaching staff, facilities, baseball experience, and ethics set Crush high above all other programs, and we encourage everyone to make Crush their first travel ball option.
